The Sun-Saturn conjunction creates Andhak Dosh — light joined with darkness. Under it a person cannot see his own goals clearly, like a blindfolded horse in a race: much running, no arrival. Head, eyes, heart, and the bond with the father are also affected.
For its removal, 1,02,000 mantras of Shani and 31,000 of Surya are chanted with havan; ten Brahmins complete the ritual.
The ritual is performed by learned Vedic scholars of our Pujan Mart. The havan follows the japa (about 6 hours of chanting each day).
