🔷 KP Astrology — Krishnamurti Paddhati

What is the KP system?

Krishnamurti Paddhati is the modern method given by Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti that cuts through the many-answers ambiguity of traditional prediction toward a single-answer style. Its core rule: the result is spoken not by the sign but by the nakshatra lord, and its final confirmation comes from the sub-lord. The whole zodiac divides into 249 sub-divisions — hence KP is also called the 249 system.

The second big difference is house reckoning: KP uses Placidus cusps (house-beginning points), not equal houses, with its own KP ayanamsa. Whichever sub-lord a house cusp falls in becomes the decider of that house's 'yes or no' — will marriage happen, will the job come — that is KP's famed edge.

Significators and Ruling Planets

For any event KP grades the causal planets into four classes (A-B-C-D) — planets in the star of the occupants are strongest, then the occupants, then planets in the star of the house lord, then the lord itself. Event timing is read through the dashas and transits of these significators.

Ruling Planets — the rulers of the moment (day lord, Moon's sign and star lords, Ascendant's sign and star lords) — are KP's unique tool: from the moment a question is asked they point the answer's direction and the fine timing. The 1-249 Horary chart is built on them too.

KP in Nakshtra Tak — what you get

Our kundali tool carries the full KP section: planetary positions on the KP ayanamsa (sign/star/sub/sub-sub lords to the arc-second), the table of all twelve cusps, house-wise A-B-C-D significators, ruling planets, cuspal interlinks, and all five Vimshottari levels (Maha→Antar→Pratyantar→Sookshma→Prana). The Rahu-Ketu agency rules apply classically as well.

The same computation runs in our desktop software and the detailed PDF report — one engine in all three places, so one answer. The methodology is an open book: read it here.

❓ FAQ

How does KP differ from the traditional (Parashari) system?
Parashari speaks from sign, house and aspect; KP from the nakshatra lord and sub-lord — with Placidus cusps and its own ayanamsa. The two are complementary: we show both, so a decision can be tested on two touchstones.

How are the 249 divisions made?
Each nakshatra (13°20′) splits into 9 sub-parts in the Vimshottari proportion — 27 × 9 = 243, counted as 249 effective divisions in practice at the boundaries; each has its own sub-lord.

Can KP give the date of an event?
KP gives time windows — when the significators' dasha periods meet the ruling planets, that span is held strongest. No honest method claims day-level certainty.
