🪐 Today's Transit (Gochar)

What is Gochar (planetary transit) and why it matters

Gochar means the current motion of the planets — your birth chart is a frozen photograph of the birth moment, but the planets keep moving. As they pass through the houses counted from your Moon sign, they give auspicious or inauspicious results; the daily horoscope is computed from exactly this.

The slow planets cut deepest: Saturn stays about 2½ years in a sign — its transit over the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from the Moon is the famous Sade Sati, and over the 4th and 8th the Dhaiya. Jupiter changes sign roughly yearly, bringing expansion to the house it enters. Rahu-Ketu spend 18 months per sign and mark sudden turns. The Sun, Mercury and Venus work at a monthly scale, while the Moon changes sign every 2¼ days, driving the daily ups and downs.

Always read gochar together with the dasha — the transit of the planet whose mahadasha/antardasha runs is especially fruitful, which is why the same transit never gives everyone the same result. Vedha and Ashtakavarga rules further tune it.

Below are today's real positions of the nine planets (Swiss Ephemeris). Pick your Moon sign for a personal transit reading, make your kundali to know your running dasha, or read today's horoscope.

📖 How to read a transit correctly

1) From the Moon sign — with Vedha

The classical base: count the transiting planet's house from your Moon sign and check the favourable-house list above. But every good transit has a vedha (obstruction) point — another planet sitting there cancels the good result. That is why a "good Saturn transit" sometimes fails to deliver.

2) From the Lagna too

For body, career and concrete events, run the same count from the Lagna. When both Moon-chart and Lagna-chart agree, the result is strong; when they disagree, expect a mixed outcome.

3) Dasha + Gochar — the two wheels

The dasha shows which door is open; the transit shows when to walk through it. A big event usually needs both — e.g. a marriage-dasha running while Jupiter transits favourably. Check your running dasha in the free kundali.

4) Ashtakavarga refinement

In the transited sign, see the planet's own Ashtakavarga bindus: 5-8 bindus lift even a rough transit, 0-3 weaken even a good one. Our kundali computes the full Ashtakavarga table.
