📅 Wednesday, 28 October 2026 · By Moon sign (birth rashi) — refreshed every morning at sunrise
The 360 degree circular path of the sky is divided into twelve equal parts – each part of 30 degrees, this is one zodiac sign. Vedic astrology takes the sidereal zodiac, which is tied to the actual position of the stars; The Syan Chakra of Western astrology is about 24 degrees ahead of it. Due to this difference, the western «sun sign» and your Vedic zodiac sign often turn out to be different – there is nothing wrong in both, the basis is different.
Three zodiac signs are seen in the same horoscope: Lagna sign (the sign rising on the eastern horizon at the time of birth), Moon sign (the sign in which the Moon was at the time of birth) and Sun sign. In the Vedic tradition, the horoscope is seen from the Moon Sign, because the Moon is the factor of the mind and the transit results are measured from it. Name sign is different from this – it depends on the name letter obtained from the phase of birth star.
Every zodiac sign has three identities – its element, its nature and its ruling planet. Before giving the result the astrologer looks at these three things:
| Type | Zodiac Signs | what does it tell |
|---|---|---|
| Fire element | Aries · Leo · Sagittarius | enthusiasm, leadership, momentum |
| Earth element | Taurus · Virgo · Capricorn | practicality, patience, durability |
| Air element | Gemini · Libra · Aquarius | intelligence, communication, sociality |
| Water element | Cancer · Scorpio · Pisces | emotionality, insight, depth |
| Chara (Movable) | Aries · Cancer · Libra · Capricorn | Start to do of strength, Motion |
| Sthira (Fixed) | Taurus · Leo · Scorpio · Aquarius | tenacity, tenacity, tenacity |
| Dwiswabhava (Dual) | Gemini · Virgo · Sagittarius · Pisces | Flexibility |
The lords are – Mars (Aries, Scorpio), Venus (Taurus, Libra), Mercury (Gemini, Virgo), Moon (Cancer), Sun (Leo), Jupiter (Sagittarius, Pisces) and Saturn (Capricorn, Aquarius). The result of any zodiac sign is fully understood only when its lord is seen in the horoscope. Each zodiac sign is made up of two and a quarter constellations, i.e. nine constellations - that is why two people of the same zodiac sign can be quite different in nature.
