The Lingashtakam is an eight-verse hymn to the Shivalinga тАФ each verse describes a form or quality of the linga (worshipped by Brahma and Vishnu, destroyer of Ravana's pride, destroyer of Daksha's sacrifice, radiant as crores of suns) and ends with ┬лTat pranamami Sadashiva lingam┬╗. Its simple rhythm makes it the most sung hymn during abhishek.
