ЁЯУЬ Story / origin

This episode is in the Yuddha Kanda of the Valmiki Ramayana. Before the decisive battle with Ravana, Sage Agastya came to the battlefield with the gods and gave Shri Ram this ┬лsecret, eternal┬╗ hymn.

After verse 27 Agastya left; Shri Ram purified himself and chanted it three times, and the Sun god himself urged him on with ┬лHurry!┬╗ тАФ as the last verse says.

ЁЯМЯ Benefits (as per tradition)

  • A prayer for courage and confidence in trouble, fear and worry.
  • Traditionally recited for health and long life (verse 5).
  • Recited as Sun-worship when the Sun is weak in the kundali.

These are traditional beliefs described in scriptures; results are understood to depend on faith, discipline and one's own actions.
