«Om Jai Gange Mata» is the Ganga aarti sung in homes. It recalls the liberation of King Sagara's sixty thousand sons — by Bhagiratha's penance Ganga came down to earth and her touch freed Sagara's sons. The evening aartis at the ghats of Haridwar, Rishikesh and Varanasi are a grand tradition of their own.
