The Siddha Kunjika Stotram is called the ┬лkey┬╗ (kunji) that awakens the mantras of the Durga Saptashati. The text itself says that reciting it gives the fruit of the Saptashati even without the Kavacha, Argala and Kilaka. It contains the Navarna mantra and many seed syllables, so it is traditionally recited with correct pronunciation and devotion.

Shiva said тАФ Listen, O Devi, I shall tell you the excellent Kunjika Stotra, by the power of whose mantra the recitation of the Chandi (Durga Saptashati) becomes auspicious (successful).
Na Kavacham Nargalastotram Kilakam Na Rahasyakam | Na Suktam Napi Dhyanam Cha Na Nyaso Na Cha Varchanam ||2 ||
(With it) neither the Kavacha, nor the Argala Stotra, nor the Kilaka, nor the Rahasya, nor the Sukta, nor meditation, nor nyasa, nor (elaborate) worship is needed.
O Parvati, it should be carefully kept very secret. (The tantric text says that) the six rites such as marana, mohana, vashya, stambhana and uchchatana are accomplished by its mere recitation тАФ this is the statement of the scripture, mentioned here only to give the complete text.
|| Atha Mantrah ||
Om Aim Hrim Klim Chamundayai Vichche | Om Glaum Hum Klim Jum Sah Jvalaya Jvalaya Jvala Jvala Prajvala Prajvala
Aim Hrim Klim Chamundayai Vichche Jvala Ham Sam Lam Ksham Phat Svaha ||
The root mantra тАФ the Kunjika mantra with the Navarna mantra (Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichche), seed syllables and the words ┬лjvalaya, prajvala┬╗ (blaze forth), praying for the awakening of the mantra's power.
As ┬лAim┬╗ you are the form of creation, as ┬лHreem┬╗ the sustainer, as ┬лKleem┬╗ the form of desire тАФ salutations to you, the form of the seed syllables.
You are Chamunda, slayer of Chanda; as ┬лYai┬╗ the giver of boons, and as ┬лVichche┬╗ ever the giver of fearlessness тАФ salutations to you, the form of the mantra.
Hum Hum Hunkararupinyai Jam Jam Jam Jambhanadini | Bhram Bhrim Bhrum Bhairavi Bhadre Bhavanyai Te Namo Namah ||6 ||
┬лHum Hum┬╗ тАФ the form of the sound Hum; ┬лJam Jam Jam┬╗ тАФ destroyer of (the demon) Jambha; ┬лBhram Bhrim Bhrum┬╗ тАФ Bhairavi; O auspicious Bhavani, salutations to you again and again.
Pam Pim Pum Parvati Purna Kham Khim Khum Khechari Tatha | Sam Sim Sum Saptashati Devya Mantrasiddhim Kurushva Me ||8 ||
┬лPam Pim Pum┬╗ тАФ Parvati, the complete one; ┬лKham Khim Khum┬╗ тАФ Khechari (who moves in the sky); ┬лSam Sim Sum┬╗ тАФ goddess of the Saptashati, make my mantra perfect.
Idam Tu Kunjikastotram Mantrajagartihetave | Abhakte Naiva Datavyam Gopitam Raksha Parvati ||
Yastu Kunjikaya Devi Hinam Saptashatim Pathet | Na Tasya Jayate Siddhiraranye Rodanam Yatha ||
This Kunjika Stotra is for awakening the mantra; it should not be given to one without devotion тАФ O Parvati, keep it secret. One who recites the Saptashati without the Kunjika gains no success тАФ like crying in the forest.

тЭУ Frequently asked questions
Can the Siddha Kunjika be recited on its own?
Yes; the text says that reciting the Kunjika alone also gives the fruit of the Durga Path. Reciting it before the Saptashati is also a tradition.
Why does it mention ┬лmarana-mohana┬╗?
It is the original statement of the tantric text and appears in the full recitation. For a devotee the purpose is devotion to the Goddess and awakening of the mantra тАФ never attempt any rite to harm anyone.
