Leo (Singh) is a fire sign of fixed nature — confidence, leadership and the wish for respect are its hallmarks. Its lord is Surya (Sun), so tradition recommends Surya's mantras and the worship of Surya Narayan for people of Singh rashi. Note — here rashi means the moon sign (janma rashi); confirm your sign from your birth chart, not from the first letter of your name.

🪔 How to chant / recite
Start: On the first Sunday of the bright fortnight (shukla paksha).
Count: One mala (108) daily — the simple mantra or the deity's mantra.
Seat & direction: On a woollen/kusha asana, facing east or north.
Along with it: Donate Surya's items (wheat, jaggery, copper) on Sunday.
🛕 Puja vidhi (step by step)
🧺 Items needed
Copper pot (lota)
Water with red sandalwood/roli, red flowers, akshata, jaggery
Red cloth or red asana
Ghee lamp
🪷 Procedure
Bathe and wear clean clothes; clean the puja place and spread a fresh cloth on the altar (chowki).
Do achamana (sip water three times) and purify hands and mouth; sit on an asana and calm the mind.
Light a lamp of ghee or sesame oil — by tradition the lamp is kept to the deity's right.
Take water, akshata (unbroken rice) and a flower in the right hand and make the sankalpa — your name, gotra, place, date and the purpose of the puja, spoken or in the mind; then let the water fall to the ground.
First remember Shri Ganesha (Om Gam Ganapataye Namah).
At sunrise stand facing east; fill the copper lota with water, roli/red sandalwood, red flowers and akshata.
Raise the lota above your head with both hands and pour a slow stream, looking at the Sun through the stream; chant «Om Ghrini Suryaya Namah».
After offering, turn around three times in your place and touch the fallen water to your forehead.
Then recite Aditya Hridaya Stotra / Surya mantra.
Finally perform aarti, offer pushpanjali (flowers) and do parikrama (or turn around in your place).
Ask forgiveness for any mistakes in the puja, distribute the prasad and take it yourself.
⚠️ Rules & precautions
The arghya water should not fall on your feet — offer it over a plant.
Avoiding salt on Sundays is a traditional vow.
Do not stare at the Sun — a moment's darshan through the water stream is enough.
